FAQ's

How do we get to the town/ slopes?

4 ways

  1. Walk- it’s a 15 min walk to the town centre or 20 with kit. And it’s a largely flat walk- no steep roads

  2. Ski bus- from the end of the road, an 8 min walk, to the Mont Chery lift

  3. Private transfer: our minibus is available for morning and evening shuttles to the pistes; this is included in the price

  4. Drive- there are multiple car parks in Les Gets; Mont Chery is a 3 min drive, Chavannes with underground parking 5 mins and Les Perrieres at the other end of town is 7 mins.

Is there parking at the house?

Yes - for up to 8 cars

How many people can the Ferme accommodate?

14 maximum: The Farmhouse is set up with 4x kingsize rooms and one large 'kids' room with space for 6 in 3x single bunk beds.

Do you have hairdryers?

Yes, proper ones in every room!

Is the house safe for a toddler?

This would be at YOUR risk but toddlers shouldn’t be left unsupervised: there are steep stairs, galleried staircases and a steep slope at the garden perimeter.  We cannot fit “baby gates”

What is the deposit?

€2000 deposit that must be paid by bank transfer before check in. We’re not precious about the odd broken wine glass or plate but the material features and furniture of the house must be as they were when you arrived and ready to go for the following week!

Toilets

You MUST NOT flush anything down the loo other than what comes out of you and toilet paper. The house is serviced by a septic tank but more importantly the toilets all link up to macerators. Block those and to be blunt you’ll have a problematic and expensive week!

How do I use the music system?

2 ways.

1) link to the players via Bluetooth- set the player to Bluetooth mode cycling through using the “source” button and connect to your phone.

2) Download the “audio pro” app and link via WiFi - this controls them centrally much like a Sonos or equivalent would

How does the jacuzzi work?

It will be cleaned each week and will be turned on and hot for your arrival. Please have a shower before getting in! The controls in the side are self explanatory. Please take care removing the cover and always switch off any jets before replacing it after use.   Please only use the “beach towels” for the jacuzzi and outside

And the Sauna?

The control panel is on the wall; turn on 20 mins before and only use fresh water on the coals. As with the hot tub, “beach towels” here please.

How can we change the temperature in the house?

You can’t!  If there’s a problem please call Solene. The house is heated with under floor heating and the controls are not accessible. In any case these systems respond more slowly than a traditional “radiator” system and it's set to the right ambient level. The log burner can be lit (and sends out a ferocious heat!)

Where is the Supermarket?

The supermarket in the town centre is an excellent, modern, medium sized supermarket that can meet all your food and drink needs for a week.  But if you want somewhere larger, the Super U in Morzine is a 10 min drive from the front door.  There is also a Sherpa on the other side of Les Gets near the Perrieres lifts.

Are there any EV chargers?

Not at the Farmhouse - yet - but Les Gets and the surrounding area has lots of them!  And if you're wondering about this then you’ll have made use of the excellent rapid chargers available at many of the service stations on the route down; Les Gets has EV chargers in all carparks and the large supermarkets also have them, as do various destinations in Morzine such as the Swimming pool complex. They are all 7kw chargers.   Most are card-payment and there are 2 free Tesla chargers in the Mont Chery lift carpark.

Can you arrange...

The answer is yes - anything from a 'ready to heat' meals service to a chef or a massage can be requested via our chalet manager Solene.

Can we leave our skis in town?

Yes - if you book skis with our recommended supplier Skimium- with a discount -  you can also leave your skis and boots there every day by the Chavannes lifts.

Where can I find out more about Les Gets?

The resorts own website is great with French and English versions of the site, but we also like the following Instagram accounts because they are honest accounts of what's going on:

@Lesgetsmadeeasy  Run by a local part-time English resident, this is his families pick of things to do and see

@LesGetsbikepark

@LesGetsofficiel

@portesdusoleil

@lesgetsinfo

@abi_foy  Les Gets resident & local estate agent, Abi's personal IG gives a true flavour of what’s in and around Les Gets.

@emilyruthyoga Emily runs classes in and around the whole area and her account shows you all the great outdoors.
